Memorial Pet Stone
Coping with the death of a pet and coming to terms with the grief and pain suffered from that loss is often like losing our best friend, for some people it is equal to the suffering of a family bereavement. It is usually a child’s first encounter with death and even if the “pet parent” is an adult, it is important to say goodbye in proper and sombre way.

The pet funeral should have an appropriate casket or coffin and family members should gather round with the sombre duty of preforming a pet memorial. The “pet parent” assumes the role of “minister” and leads the service.
They say a eulogy praising the pet’s qualities and could be as follows:
As the mother of Moses laid him in the reeds at the river’s edge, entrusting him wholly to your care because she could no longer keep him safe, so we lay our pet in this place. Keep (name) safe in your love until we come, and give us Grace to come when you call us, as (name) came when we called her/him. Forgive us those times when we did not love your pet as you would have us do, and accept our thanks for your having given (name) to us for her/his time on earth. We thank you for her/his — (describe memorable qualities of your pet). We thank you also for — (describe memorable events in your pet’s life and relationships with yourself and others). We leave (name) mortal remains here — (describe why this place is special to you or your pet).

After the internment or scattering of ashes say a prayer.
An apt prayer could be from 1 Corinthians 15:51-57
Behold, I tell you a mystery: …………………………..through our Lord Jesus Christ Amen.
A wide selection of headstones and plaques are available, not only for erection in a cemetery, but also for pets buried at home. Commemoration trees, shrubs and benches can also be purchased and dedicated to the everlasting memory of your pet.
Professional pet funeral services can be obtained in most places and prices start from about $185 for a basic cremation, but if an engraved granite pet head stone is required, this would increase.

Pet memorial verse can be used as epitaph or just spoken in relative places during the service.
"Ask the beasts and they will teach you the beauty of this earth."
~St. Francis of Assisi.
"Grief is so painfully real, regardless of its origin. The love of, and attachment to, an animal friend can equal that of human relationships. Likewise, the loss of an animal can be just as devastating."
~Rev. Joel L. Morgan
"If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went."
~ Will Rogers
"Dogs love their friends and bite their enemies, quite unlike people, who are incapable of pure love and always have to mix love and hate."
~Sigmund Freud
"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains un-awakened."
~Anatole France
